Title: Latest COBOL Offerings and Modern Programming Languages on z/OS

Abstract: COBOL runs the most critical business applications in the world. To reduce processing time and operating costs, these applications need to fully exploit new Z hardware features that are specifically designed to improve performance of COBOL workloads. Many companies are also transforming their businesses to tap into new revenue opportunities in the API economy. They can now leverage modern programming languages on IBM Z to accelerate digital transformation. In this session, you will learn how to reduce operating cost by using IBM’s latest COBOL offerings (Enterprise COBOL & Automatic Binary Optimizer); and strategically increase the value of core business applications by using modern programming languages (Java, Node.js and Swift) available on IBM Z.
